Job Description

The New England School of Performing Arts is seeking a passionate and dedicated Drama Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theatre arts, excellent communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with students. As the Drama Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment, fostering creativity, and helping students develop their skills.

Responsibilities-

  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive theatre arts curriculum that caters to the age and skill level of students, covering various aspects of acting, stage presence, improvisation, and other relevant topics.
  • Instructional Delivery: Conduct interactive and hands-on theatre classes, providing guidance and constructive feedback to students. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression.
  • Rehearsals and Productions: Organize and oversee rehearsals for class presentations, guiding students through the process of script interpretation, character development, and stage direction. Coordinate and direct performances for parents.
  • Skill Development: Work individually with students to help them improve their acting skills, focusing on voice projection, body language, emotional expression, and other key aspects of performance.
  • Collaboration : Collaborate with other Teaching Artists and staff to integrate theatre arts into broader organization activities. Participate in meetings and discussions related to the overall educational program.
  • Communication : Maintain open and effective communication with parents.

Qualifications:



  • College level coursework or bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching theatre classes to students of various age groups.
  • Strong knowledge of theatre techniques, acting methods, and musical theatre.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creativity.
  • Organizational skills to manage rehearsals, productions, and other class-related activities.
  • Patience and adaptability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

We are also looking to hire for vacation programs during February, April, and throughout the summer. Open to someone willing to work one afternoon or more. Programs begin at 4pm and last until 6:30/7pm depending on the day.
